Drill the hookbait to the depth you need and plug in a cork stick for a critically balanced bait.

Description

6 mm bait drill is a precision carp fishing tool designed to bore a clean, controlled hole in hard baits such as boilies, nut baits, air‑dried pellets, or other dense presentations, without splitting them

Main Uses

Hookbait presentation – Creates a hole in the bait so a hookbait (e.g., a smaller boilie, pellet, or soft bait) can be threaded onto your hair or rig, ensuring a secure fit.

Adding buoyancy – By drilling a hole and inserting a matching cork stick, you can adjust the bait’s buoyancy.

This is useful for:

  • Balancing a bait so it sits neutrally in the water.
  • Creating a “snowman” set‑up by joining two baits with a cork spacer.
  • Compensating for missing pop‑ups or adjusting depth.

Hard bait penetration – The 6 mm size is ideal for medium‑sized baits (nuts to ~18 mm boilies) where a baiting needle would split the bait or be too slow

The 6 mm diameter is a versatile middle size:

  • Large enough to handle a wide range of baits from nuts to boilies.
  • Small enough to avoid excessive damage to the bait’s surface.
  • Commonly used for critical balancing and hookbait threading in specimen carp rigs

How It Works

  • The drill bit has a sharp pilot point and a small spike at the tip to position the hole exactly where you want it, preventing slipping.
  • Ergonomic handles give a secure grip for precision work.
  • Often supplied with cork sticks to insert into the drilled hole for buoyancy adjustment.
