The ARMORPOINT Hyperlatch Quad-Urchin Hook is purpose-built for rigging urchin-style soft baits with a unique dual-wire bait-locking system. Designed to eliminate the shortcomings of traditional rigging methods, it minimizes damage to the bait while preventing it from sliding or being thrown free during use. An integrated dual-wire locking pin, positioned directly beneath the hook’s central axis, passes straight through the center of the bait. Once secured, the wire locks the bait firmly in place, keeping it perfectly cantered on the hook.
Key Features and How It Works:
- Quad‑point design: Four hook points are evenly spaced around the bait’s 360° circumference, ensuring a clean hook‑up from any strike angle
- Dual‑wire axial bait keeper: Two wires run through the centre of the bait, locking it in place directly along the hook’s central axis
- This prevents the bait from sliding, shifting, or being lost during casting, rod twitches, or fish strikes.
- Centre‑through fixation: By securing the bait through its centre, the hook points remain perfectly aligned, preserving the bait’s natural fall and reducing line twist
- ArmorPoint construction: Made from Hyper Carbon Steel (HCS) wire, 25% stronger and 30% harder than standard hooks, for confidence on hard hooksets and heavy fights
- Super Slide (SS) coating: Low‑friction finish for faster penetration and reduced bait damage
Compatibility:
Works with BKK’s hollow Urchin Nail Weights, which slide onto the wires for added balance and presentation
Purpose and Benefits:
- Prevents bait loss: The locking system stops urchin baits from slipping off during use
- Minimises bait damage: Central locking reduces tearing, allowing you to fish the same bait longer
- Improves presentation: Balanced 360° hook placement keeps the bait’s natural action and maximises hook‑up ratios
- Strength and durability: HCS wire and SS coating handle trophy‑class fish and heavy gear
The “Hyperlatch Quad‑Urchin” name refers to a quad‑point, dual‑wire, centre‑locked hook built for urchin baits, offering secure bait placement, better presentation, and extra strength for big fish
